Specialties at a glance: Helping clients trade stress and worry for shoe-sniffs, tail wags, and a moment of joy.

Hi! I'm Frankie, a very sweet Labrador and the Chief Chewing Officer at The Psychology Group in Fort Lauderdale. You might be someone who comes into our office feeling a little nervous or overwhelmed. You want to feel calm and comfortable, but sometimes sitting in a waiting room can feel a bit daunting.

The problem is, when you're caught up in your own thoughts, it's hard to slow down long enough to take a deep breath. You may feel tense or anxious before a session. I believe the healing process shouldn't have to start only when you enter the therapy room, it can start the moment you walk through our front door. I understand how hard it can be to take that first step, which is why I help our clients find a moment of peace through enthusiastic greetings and unconditional canine support.

Together, we'll take a thoughtful, collaborative approach to your arrival:

  1. Sniff – We'll start by uncovering the best scents on your shoes to help ground you in the present moment.
  2. Pet – You'll practice research-backed strategies for boosting your mood by giving me lots of head scratches and pats. Did you know that petting animals triggers the release of dopamine, a feel-good neurotransmitter?
  3. Treat – We'll work toward lasting emotional balance through the shared joy of my favorite chicken snacks.
A few minutes of dog-petting is one of the best investments you can make in your immediate well-being. Whenever you're ready, let's start building a sense of calm before your appointment even begins.
