Dr. Jen Sincore Gallagher
Hello! I’m Dr. Jen Gallagher, a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida. I am passionate about mental health and teaching skills to assist you in building tolerance for life’s tribulations. I will show you how to play an active role in creating a life in which you want to be present.
Making the decision to engage in therapy can feel complicated. When is the “right time”? When have I reached the point of “enough” need? To be honest: If I ruled the world, every single person would be assigned a therapist at birth and have regular access to therapy services throughout their lifetime. Nearly everybody can benefit from having a therapist - it is simply the manner in which each person utilizes therapy that varies.
Do you feel as though you are surviving but not thriving? Do you find yourself preoccupied with thoughts of the unchangeable past or the uncertain future and then missing out on what is happening in the here and now? Have you found yourself caught in a cycle of desire for something different but fear of change? Do you feel that your inner critic has been dictating your decision-making?
If you have never tried therapy before: Welcome! If you are returning to therapy: Let’s build upon the work you have already done! There are so many options for tailoring treatment and feeling more empowered in your daily living.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Central Florida (UCF) and went on to receive my Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). I have worked for The Renfrew Center, Eating Recovery Center - Insight Behavioral Health in Chicago, Cambridge Eating Disorder Center in Massachusetts, and Henderson Behavioral Health’s Student Counseling Services for NSU undergraduate and graduate programs.
My specialties are in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and eating disorders along with managing major life changes/transitions and overall personal/identity development. I utilize evidence-based therapy methods including Unified Protocol and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my treatment approach.
