Hi, I’m Corie Talano, a registered social work intern in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. If you’ve been running on empty—constantly managing stress from your family, partner, work, or school—it can start to feel like life is happening to you instead of with you. You want to feel confident, connected, and in control again, but you’re not sure where to start. That’s where therapy can help. Together, we’ll create a compassionate space to slow down, make sense of what’s been overwhelming you, and build the tools to help you feel more grounded and capable in your everyday life.

The problem is, life feels like a moving target. Whether you’re a teen trying to find your place, a young adult figuring out who you want to be, a sandwich generation parent pulled in too many directions, or someone facing a big life change—it can start to feel like you’re just getting by instead of truly living. You’re tired of feeling anxious, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. I believe you shouldn’t have to carry it all by yourself. I understand how isolating it can feel when you’re supposed to be “okay,” but inside, you're anything but. That’s why I help clients like you—overwhelmed parents, teens or young adults finding their footing, and anyone facing a new life chapter—slow down, reflect, and move forward with intention.

Together, we’ll create a plan that feels sustainable and real:

  1. Connect - We’ll  talk about what’s actually going on beneath the surface—no judgment, just understanding.
  2. Clarify - We’ll identify what matters most to you and explore what’s getting in the way, including the patterns in your thoughts, relationships, and habits that may be keeping you stuck.
  3. Create Change - We’ll  use evidenced based practices to build healthy coping skills, insights, and new ways of being that support the life you want.
Working with a registered social work intern like me comes with a few benefits. You’ll receive compassionate care from an up-and-coming clinician at a reduced rate, plus the advantage of two professionals collaborating on your progress—because as an intern, I work under the close supervision of an experienced therapist.
So, if you're ready to step off of the hamster wheel and start building a life that feels meaningful, not just manageable—let’s talk. Call The Psychology Group at 954-488-2933 and let our client concierge know you would like to work with Corie.
Schedule a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation with me today. Together, let’s help you become the person you’ve always dreamed of being.

Background

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University, as well as a Master of Social Work with a clinical major from Boston University. Before transitioning into the field of mental health, I built a career in arts administration in New Orleans, where the organizational and interpersonal skills I used continue to inform my work as a clinician.
In my mental health career, I have experience working with clients of all ages, both individually and in group settings, providing support and helping them develop insight and effective coping skills. During my graduate training, I worked with Families First of Palm Beach County and the Faulk Center for Counseling in Boca Raton, gaining valuable experience in a variety of clinical settings. After completing my degree, I continued my work in the community with the Faulk Center as a co-located mental health clinician.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). I strive to create a collaborative, compassionate space that empowers clients to build resilience and make meaningful change in their lives. I am a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern in the State of Florida (#ISW20656).
